Saudi activists have called on the monarchy to implement serious political reforms in order to avoid people's uprising in the kingdom.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - There is an interview with Maher Salloum, Ambassador for Peace, to share his opinion on this issue.

Q:
Voices of descent are getting louder and louder in Saudi Arabia nowadays. How long do you think it will take before the waves of change, would you say, reach the Saudi shores?

Salloum:  Well it depends on the outbreak as you were saying just earlier. It depends on the social and economic situation for the people of Saudi Arabia and specifically the deprived sects or certain privileges that have been given only to certain parts of the country and certain, I am sorry to say this, to certain loyalists to the kingdom itself. So it depends on the political and social economical situation, where it has been diminishing as much as possible so there would be another outbreak or another mini revolt, you know, as expected by us as analysts.

Q:  How much do you think the people of Saudi Arabia are ready enough for change?

Salloum:  Well, I do not think they are ready now for change. Still the economic situation is not as fearful as other parts of the Arab world such as where revolutions were taking place such as Egypt, Libya or Tunisia and even Yemen which is a neighboring country to Saudi Arabia, because Saudi Arabia deeper capital income is a bit higher than those, you know, persons or beings in different Arab nations.

Even though if we compare it to Libya, Libya has a high reserve oil about 46 billion of oil reserves, you know, and Saudi Arabia has maybe as double as Libya has in its own country but it seems the economic value or the economic richness of the kingdom itself is not been divided faithfully and justly to the whole population inside Saudi Arabia.

And wherever there is lack of social injustice, you know I am saying, social and economic injustice in certain parts of Saudi Arabia then we look forward to maybe a revolution taking place and such I mean on the east provinces such as Jubail or the east major cities or mini cities down there.
